Don’t just take our word for it, take a look at what others are saying about the wedding planning and wedding experience at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile!
02/01/2014 Review: “Chris Schmidt, the Director of Catering, went out of his way during our 14 months of planning to make sure that everything was done to perfection. On the day of our daughter's wedding, it all came together perfectly. The hotel was warm and receptive to all of our guests who stayed there. The banquet staff flawlessly provided excellent service. The dinner was served hot to everyone; and looked and tasted as good as it did during our small "tasting session" several months prior to the wedding. I checked, and all the dinner plates were "eaten clean" when they were cleared at the end of the meal. Chris remained on-site for over 16 hours that day, and prior to leaving, made sure to ask me (the Father of the Bride), if everything was to our satisfaction. He would not leave until he was personally assured that we were 100% satisfied. If you are looking for an historic venue in a wonderful downtown Chicago location, backed by a classy staff and people who care, look no further than the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile.”
The Knot Reviews
Out of town wedding – (7/14/2013): “For our wedding, The Intercontinental Hotel served an exquisite 4-course meal consisting of
Exotic Mushroom Consommé Flavored with Lemongrass and Galangal with a Porcini Flan
Bibb Salad with Grilled Pear, Stilton Cheese and Caramelized Pecans, Dressed with a Dark Balsamic Vinaigrette
Petite Filet Mignon Paired with Crab Cake and Garlic Pesto Mashed Potatoes, accented with Asparagus, Carrots and Broccolini
Wedding Cake and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
We received so many compliments on how wonderful the menu was, and how delicious the food was at our cocktail hour and our reception. Everything was prepared and presented perfectly thanks to the Chris Schmidt who handled the catering for our wedding at the InternContinental Hotel which is where we had our wedding and reception. Chris made sure everything was handled so professionally, and the wait staff was incredible - going above and beyond offering our guests last minute alternatives for those who had not specified dietary restrictions or preferences. They are the best of the best and I would highly recommend Chris and his group if you want to present your guests with an amazing meal. They are true professionals which is what you want for your special day. Give Chris a call for your special day - they will not disappoint you.”
“Great place for a city wedding” (02/10/2014):“Our daughter was married here around Christmas 2013. We could not have been happier with the events office and the front desk office. The two departments worked together to see that our 100+ guests were well taken care of. Not one guest had a complaint. Jaclyn Cosantino, our hotel event coordinator for the wedding, was the consummate professional. Anticipating every possible situation and need and taking care of them with a calm and in charge approach. We felt in very competent hands with Jaclyn, she made sure everything was seamless. Malcolm Moore, the guest relations manager was very attentive to any requests. All of the hotel staff was very concerned about our comfort. We couldn't recommend it more.”
“The Perfect Wedding” (02/07/2014): “Our daughter was married at the InterContinental Chicago this past weekend. Our fourteen months of planning with their staff came together flawlessly on the night of her wedding.
First impressions are always important. When my wife and I arrived at the front door, we were greeted with a big smile and a friendly hello by Will, the doorman. He became the "go to guy" when you needed any information about where to go in the city or how to get something done. Thanks Will, for all your kindness. Additionally, the bell captain, Vinco, seemed to work 24 hour shifts every day. He was always available to provide quick and friendly service. The housekeeping staff did a marvelous job. The honeymoon suite was used as a dressing area for the bridesmaids. About twenty people were using that room for 8 hours before the wedding. Needless to say, it was a mess at the end of the day. The Housekeeping Staff turned it around into a spotless Honeymoon Suite during the wedding ceremony. Thanks for the super service.
The hotel itself is historic and well maintained. The staff is polite and well trained. Every time we called for something, we were asked how the wedding plans were going. The Manager of Guest Relations personally came out to introduce himself and make himself available if we had any questions.
