Treated like family

Wow, from the moment we walked in for our 4-night stay, we began to think we were royalty. Every staff member was cheerful, kind, and sported big smiles. As busy as they were with conferences and other guests, we were never neglected. And as large as the hotel is, it always felt serene. Even if you don’t swim, go visit the historic swimming pool. We were told it was the first above ground pool in Chicago, and it is kept in original and gorgeous condition. Take time to check out the history of the building. Fascinating. Also, it is in walking distance to everything. We walked to the Art Institute, Millennium Park, the Architectural River Cruise, the Chicago Cultural Center, and numerous restaurants. Not one taxi or Uber needed except for a pilgrimage to Wrigley Park. Oh, and there’s a great Starbucks just off the lobby. This is our first visit to Chicago, and the InterContinental was the ideal location for a newbie.
